I was in a taxi the other day and the driver asked me “Where are you from?”. Everywhere I go people ask, “Where are you from?” I always wonder why people ask, because for me, even though I was born in Kosovo, raised in London and lived in Berlin for a number of years. I don’t know how to answer that question because how can I know where I am from? Where is it I am from when I feel like I am constantly longing for home? My practice uses painting as a medium to question, can the journey itself be home?
